COVID-19 lockdown has impacted our lives in many ways. In such difficult times we all deserve a little self-love and what better way to do that than self-care?

If you’re a homebody like me, the experience of being quarantined isn’t as traumatic. It can feel pretty liberating to be honest, but that doesn’t mean we should neglect self-care or stop accomplishing tiny things at home. Here are my 7 Tips to Practice Self-Care During the Covid-19 Lockdown

1. Scented Candles

It’s time to replace those old scented candles in your home to a different fragrance and hop into your bath tub for a long, relaxing bath. Not only it gives you a new ambience, but also creates a pleasant work-from-home mood during lockdown. Below are my favorite picks from Target

I am obsessed with this one! Layered Mottled Pillar Candle with Jasmine, White Linen, and Warm Amber scents

2. Yoga/Exercise Mat

When the quarantine started, Yusuf and I were a bit down because we won’t be able to go hiking anymore due to the trail closure in all areas of Washington. So we’ve been practicing yoga every morning lately and got ourselves a new yoga/exercise mat from Target yesterday. The Gaiam yoga mat is so versatile and comes in many designs, but too thin for Yusuf, so he picked a thicker mat from IGNITE Spri for his poomsae practices and his online Taekwondo class too. I normally do my HIIT workout 2-3 times a week and with Gaiam mat, it is also perfect for some intense workout because it provides support, cushioning and durability.

The IGNITE mat is currently out of stock, similar option here

3. Collagen Powder

Make your family, friends, or your ‘social-distancing-date’ notice your glowing skin the next time you video call them! Get that stay-at-home glow skin from these vegan choices of collagen drinks. Rae Vegan Collagen Boost and Pacifica Sea Glow are a couple of the affordable choices at Target.

Beauty Collagen

My current collagen drink obsession from Vital Proteins, it smells so good and perfect for smoothies!

4. Hand Soap

While hand sanitizers are still important in this current situation, switching between those antibacterial hand soap and hydrating, natural, lovely-smell hand soap won’t hurt, right?  🙂

This is my favorite but it’s out of stock! Find similar here

Yusuf’s favorite, it smells great too. Similar here

5. Essential Oil

My top favorite essential oils, Frankincense and Valor from Young Living.  I have to admit that I’m kinda addicted to the woodsy and grounding aroma of Frankincense oil while Valor gives you some sweet aromatic smell.

6. Planner

I know it sounds a bit cliché, but writing down goals actually does work. I’ve been using these two fancy planners from Planner Ana (gifted by my besties), one to write down my daily goals and the other is for my blog ideas. They only ship these planners within Malaysia, but I found some cute ones at Target: 2020 Planner 11″ x 9″ Marble Year and also here

7. Read a New Book

New book

So Yusuf just bought some new books online and this is one of them, I highly recommend this book! Especially in the current Covid-19 lockdown situation, this book  can give you some different aspects to look at, spirituality and also mentally. My husband and I have been reading this book and loving it so far, totally can relate with what’s going on with the world today.

I hope you enjoy your time at home and find these tips useful. Stay safe and healthy! Thanks for reading!
