Steak Squad Unite!: I kicked off the evening by putting on my chef’s hat and preparing a mouthwatering feast. Picture this – sizzling steaks, golden corn, and creamy mashed potatoes. The aroma alone was enough to set the stage for a night to remember
Nostalgia on the Screen: After stuffing our faces, we settled down to watch one of my all-time favorite 90s movies – HEAT. Despite having seen it countless times, the intensity of the film never fails to leave me on the edge of my seat, especially towards the end of it. There’s just something about the brilliant performances and gripping storyline that hits me every single time. De Niro and Pacino – total legend!
Sippin’, Snackin’, and Movie Bingein’: Armed with sodas, a mountain of snacks, and a commitment to finishing the movie before the ball drop, we kicked back. Life’s good when you’re surrounded by comfort food and classic movies, am I right?
Lynyrd Skynyrd, You Absolute Legends!: Before the clock struck 12, we caught Lynyrd Skynyrd doing their thing on CBS. Their rendition of “Free Bird” was nothing short of magical and left the song stuck in my head all day and honestly, I’m not complaining
Firecrackers, Ball Drops, and Pop-its Poppin’! The not so grand finale – the ball drop! Because we’re in central timezone, the ball drop was an hour ahead of us. We counted down, watched the rest of the movie and popped some firecrackers. Hakim, the newbie to the fireworks scene, was living his best life, especially with those pop-its. First-timer’s joy is a whole mood!

As the clock reset, I couldn’t help but get all sentimental about what 2024 might bring. Here’s to more belly laughs, fewer wrinkles, and a ton of success coming our way.
